Shape Up
Born in Zimbabwe I was surrounded by the traditional African art. I am inspired by the emotional intensity of dissonant colour tones and figural distortion. The emphasis of abstraction brings about totemic shapes that play heavily in my current work. Using characters I had created as a child, in this pieces I portray the vibrant colours and elongated shapes and lines I recall from the art that now highly influences my creative passions.
