Victoria’s figurative sculptures reflect her life experience, yet are only part of the narrative as she employs the practice of pit and smoke fire techniques and introduces fibres post firing, which hold a valued collaboration between artist and materials.

Born in Southern Africa, Victoria developed a connection for nature and a fascination for the human condition.
Completing her Bachelors of Arts Degree at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, after moving to Australia in 1999, Victoria went on to obtain her Advanced Diploma in Ceramics, and her Honours Degree at Southern Cross University in the Northern Rivers of NSW in 2016. Through her honours research Victoria investigated the concept of ‘third space’; a space we find ourselves in when moving from one place to another. To accompany her thesis, she developed and exhibited a body of work, which was an installation of ceramic sculptures reflecting the notion of the ‘hybrid identity’.
Awarded first prize in Sculpture, Serpentine Art Prize 2015, Victoria’s more recent solo show, Far to Go 2018, was held at the Lismore Regional Gallery in NSW.
When in London Victoria gained her Montessori Teachers Diploma and, now retired, she teaches ceramics fostering enthusiasm for clay whilst sharing her experience and knowledge.
