Currumbin, Gold Coast, Australia
Internationally renowned ocean photographer, based at Currumbin on the Gold Coast.
Ted Grambeau is an internationally renowned photographer.
Ted has spent a life time immersed in the ocean on commercial assignments in some of the most remote locations on the planet.
With a formal photographic background from RMIT University in Melbourne Australia and assisting legendary Magnum photographer Burt Glinn in New York, Ted’s style has a solid technical foundation. Combine this with the influence of photojournalism,
capturing the integrity of a moment via the truth on an image.
Ted’s personal photographic journey has utilised his professional technical skills combined with intimate understanding of light and a knowledge and appreciation of the ocean.
Documenting a phoneme that is the interaction of light as it dances across the oceans surface to create a kaleidoscope of colours. Virtually invisible to the naked eye these most fleeting of moments have been captured with the integrity and authenticity through specific photographic techniques, in effect they are real moments in time.
Shot on the absolute surface of the ocean at or before the sun rises, this abstract body of work I call Sealevel.
Work that I am proud to say is my own creative journey over a decade in the making.
