My inspiration comes from an emotional feeling when I am attracted to the colour, movement, beauty and light in the world around me,
which I endeavour to transfer to canvas in a way which inspires.
Sandra is a Multi Award Winning Artist whose paintings are owned by private collectors in Australia and Internationally. Born into a creative family and with a background in Advertising Art, Sandra now creates abstracted coastal landscape, sea and sky paintings with an emphasis on color and light. Her medium of acrylic and oil paint may be applied thickly or sparingly to create depth, often leaving previous layers partially exposed which leaves interesting passages. The narrative is the combination of recollection of places visited and imagination. Her inspiration for self expression is a spontaneous reaction to color, movement and using design principles she transfers to the canvas in an inspiring and uplifting manner for the viewer.
Recently she has taken a further step toward abstraction following the same theme as the Southern Skies Series.
The development and exploration of color, composition, line and mass, creating works that are stimulating, evocative and powerful.
