My artistic output has usually centered on the female body in all its different forms; literal, surreal and abstract.
The joy of this subject matter is not necessarily in the innate beauty and diversity of the female body but in the sheer delight of the artistic challenge to interpret and execute it to my satisfaction.
The female body has enjoyed extensive scrutiny over the centuries and I have endeavoured to put my own present day ‘manufacturers’ stamp on what I produce via my line-work and shadings.
Some work under the heading of surreal provides the basis for the work to become metaphors for our (female body) journey through life while often acknowledging the long history of the body in art.
