Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
Hello, I am Narelle Callen. I live on the Mornington Peninsula. I paint mainly in acrylic in abstract, semi-abstract, landscape and figurative themes to bring a sense of calmness, happiness and colour to your spaces.
I am a visual artist and designer residing on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. My formal study is in industrial design (product design) and I hold a Masters Degree in project management. Having worked in the corporate world for more than 15 years as a project manager, I returned to art and design in late 2016 to follow my passion and need to create.
My paintings are interpretations of details, snippets and ideas. These ideas are formed using a balance and contrast of colour, shape and mass. Nautical, natural, landscape, human scale forms and ideas intrigue me and I work these images and ideas into my paintings.
I am proud to say that I am an award winning artist with works held in local and international collections. I have participated in a number of group exhibitions, in Melbourne and Victoria. Commissions are welcomed. I have held 2 solo exhibitions to date in 2017 and 2018. My work was selected as Finalist in the ANL Art Prize 2017 Mission to Seafarers Exhibition.
