Mark Pearson is an emerging artist who creates figurative works using fine hatching or stippling techniques to build tone and contrast using pigmented inks on archival paper stocks. Femininity is a common theme with intimate character portraits telling narratives of beauty, sensitivity and strength.
Formally trained as a mechanical draftsman, and later working for many years as a graphic artist. His career as an artist began in middle age after a long recovery from illness. In 2017, Mark won the Executive Director’s Award at the Royal Brisbane Hospital’s Inaugural Art Awards and has exhibited his work in several group exhibitions in Brisbane.
