I am a self taught artist and enjoy all sorts of mediums and experimenting in different subjects. I have been painting for 25 years since I was 35 and still love losing myself in my work. I have a beautiful gallery set up in our home where I have a studio with a view across Yuraygir National Park and Back Beach Angourie.

Twenty five years ago I taught myself to paint. Out of necessity I took a leap of faith and printed 6000 postcards . 1000 of each 6 of my best paintings of Yamba/Angourie. I distributed them to local businesses. In just a few weeks I was receiving calls for more. This encouraged me to take a drive to Byron Bay, take some photos and paint another set of 6. Once again they sold extremely well. I continued to paint several more sets which included Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Noosa, Sydney and smaller beach side towns.
I set up a little gallery in an old fishing shed that I painted white where I displayed and sold the originals. Eventually I saved enough funds to open my first gallery called Coast and Country Art in Yamba. I conducted children’s and adult classes as well as run a gallery gift shop for 7 years, selling thousands of my post cards, greeting cards and prints. I worked many hours completing commissions and keeping up with the demand for my work.
I met my husband, Harry when he came into my store to buy a painting. After a couple of years we bought a retail space in the small Hamlet of Angourie. I set up my new gallery Silk and Sand, where we sold gifts, fashion, coffee and cake. With the help of my daughter Lindsay, we enjoyed another 10 years until retiring to concentrate on my art full time and my Grand Children.
We have a lovely space downstairs in our home where we run an Airbnb and Gallery called Silk and Sand at 27 Pacific St, Angourie.
