Lorraine’s life could be described as a life long passion for art. She has always had this commitment from an early age. “Follow your bliss” Joseph Campbell. Throughout Lorraine’s creative life of over 30 years, she has worked “en plein air” and in the studio, where she has developed her unique way of seeing focusing on colour and light. In her art she is drawn to the more intimate image, these may be interiors, home life, and her surroundings in the landscape

About Lorraine Abernethy
Lorraine has exhibited extensively throughout Australia, Maui Hawaii, Japan and in the Maldives. Her artworks have been acquired and hang in major public and private collections worldwide.
Lorraine went to art school as an adult in Sydney, receiving a Certificate in Fine Arts, Honors, also studies in Transpersonal Art Therapy. Lorraine has been an art educator/teacher @ TAFE
College NSW and Queensland continues to teach Private Art Classes and Workshops. She has been
a facilitator of Art Workshops specifically designed for adults who live with a Mental Illness for over 15 years. Lorraine is an award winning artist and has had numerous Solo Exhibitions throughout Australia’s major cities and Internationally in Japan, Maui Hawaii, and more recently the Maldives. Her paintings are in corporate and private collections in Australia and overseas. Mural commissions- Tweed Heads Shire Council, Tweed Heads Hospital, Wommin Bay Aged Care Hostel and 2 Primary Schools.
