Strongly inspired by the beauty of nature and its inter-relationship with the human world, Jeska Valk’s unique works focus on the social aspects of environmental issues. Often evocative and invariably highly original Jeska manages to highlight the indignities wrought upon the natural world by the misadventures of humans.
Originally a portrait sketch artist, Jeska progressed into photography attaining a position at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. This role stimulated her passion and respect for wildlife and the environment.
Jeska has also been in demand as a studio photographer creating images for album covers and music promotions, work that involved designing and making her own sets and costumes.
Currently working in oils Jeska’s intricate, exquisitely detailed paintings draw you in. She manages to provide an intimate and at times poignant glimpse into her subjects. Recently she has been exploring human culture.
