Imre is a Gold Coast-based artist who style has developed into both Fantasy and Surrealistic genres.
He creates very complex, detailed black and white drawings which takes 2-300 hours to complete but also loves working with pastel and oil.
Imre was born in Hungary and immigrated to Melbourne Australia in 1975 and joined into the Victorian Artist’s Society and still member today. He moved to the Gold Coast in 2017 and also joined the Royal Queensland Art Society. He won many prices and awards with his mastery of drawings. He sold many artworks across Australia and the USA.
He is a self- taught artist and did not study drawing and painting and had no art training at all. He worked very hard to improve his skills and technique in the different mediums.
He won many prizes and awards – including a personal letter from Sir William Dargie one of Australia’s leading artist and art teacher- with his very complex, dramatic and detailed black and white ink artworks. Most of his works reflects his vision of the stories of our beautiful and complex world.
