My paintings and drawings express movement and light play on Australian Landscape and Australian Birds. It’s a short-hand of mark-making techniques, quick gestural strokes to explain familiar forms with colourful transparent layering that gives depth of colour.

I have always loved panting and drawing and when I was about 16 years old my Uncle gave me my first set of Paints and Art books and set me on a creative path.
Ever since, any spare moment was quietly spent drawing or painting. Living in Canberra in my twenties and early Thirties allowed me to go to the Canberra School of Art where I went to every painting and drawing class I could get to. That started me on a journey of experimenting with colour and different medium to express movement and light on Australian forms.
I have always loved Australian birds and my early paintings were colourful designs of birds in the landscape were picked up by a couple of galleries one in Sydney and one in Canberra and I was off and running.
I have also had, as many Artists do, a career in the creative industry of graphic design and illustration and happy mixed my fine art practice into my design life.
For more than twenty-five years I have enjoyed my painting and drawing exhibiting in commercial galleries and competing in Local and National Art prizes. I have also made it into finals and won some significant events.
I paint full time now and you will see more of my work at the David Linton Furniture and Timber Works in Maple street Maleny and Makersville Gallery and Gift Shop in Main street Montville.
