This work is from a series of paintings and drawings of the wetlands of Urunga NSW. The dramatic vertical lines of ghostly Tee Trees doubly reflected in the lake lends itself well to be painted in mark making media such as ink, charcoal and pastel.

I used handmade cotton recycled paper from India which has a lovely thatched texture complimenting the graphic nature of the landscape.

With this ink drawing I was concentrating on portraying the interplay of positive light reflections juxtaposed to the deep shadow negative space of the trees and foliage in a rather abstracted fashion. Handmade drawing tools from nature were used in its creation.
