Additional Information

Perched precariously on the tops of mountains sit the most incredible little villages in rural areas of Italy. I recently returned from a trip there and am still amazed by their beauty and also a bit in awe of the villagers who made their life here.
These little towns, many of which have been around for hundreds of years, only have the bare necessities like water and power. The buildings are old and falling apart and there may or may not be a school, a small supermarket although there is always a church or two! It made me think of the need to travel down steep and treacherous mountain roads to get to school or work – made worse in the winter time when most roads are covered in snow.
I was somewhat relieved to hear that the population a lot of these little towns have now dwindled with most moving into the bigger cities.
It certainly made me appreciate so much more all my creature comforts!
