Additional Information

I was inspired to do this artwork due to the natural symmetry between two horses and the two poplar trees. Then when I studied the scene I’d taken, I could appreciate the subtle pairing of the number 2 throughout the landscape. Tharwa is a small village located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River and was established in 1862. It takes the honour of being the oldest settlement in the Australian Capital Territory. Yellow and orange are such beautiful colours to use in landscape painting and the Capital Territory is an inspiring place to paint during the autumn season.
