Additional Information

Although I wasn’t near the bush fires, nor have I personally seen the aftermath of the fires, I did observe at length the smell, stillness and colour of the dry smoke covered countryside as we travelled north along the Hume Freeway in December. This is an annual journey that we take home to visit family and friends.

On return to Melbourne, I observed smoky days both in my backyard and in the City itself.

This work shows the Australian countryside flourishing unaffected by fires and drought, an area of regeneration after the fires, a smoke hazed sky and a seed of thoughts and hope of something good eventuating from such a large scale catastrophic event.

It has been difficult to concentrate with the fire affected areas, people and animals not far from my mind.

Signed on the back.

Purchase by itself or together with my other painting Hazy Day.

If selecting framed option please allow additional 14 days for framing to delivery. Frame extra dimensions on the work 54.5 x 64.5cm natural timber floating frame.
