Three Emus

A semi-abstract artwork depicting three emus in the dusty Australian outback. Standing at up to 1.9 metres tall, the flightless Emu is one of the world’s largest birds. It proudly stands on Australia’s Coat of Arms opposite the Kangaroo. My first introduction to these amazing birds in the wild was during my late teens. My bamboo thongs were stolen and eaten by two cheeky emus at a caravan park at Lightning Ridge (NSW).  A memory that remains clearly in my mind.
The contrasting earthy colours work well on this canvas and contrast beautifully against the white matting and white frame.
