Additional Information

This painting was inspired by a photograph I saw of an artist I admire standing in front of a large scale fluid artwork. It was begun as primarily a means of celebrating and exploring the beauty and depth of the colour blue, particularly phthalo blue, in a more abstract format than I usually paint. Interestingly enough however, I painted the majority of it when I was in the worst point of undiagnosed post natal depression, which could point towards my attraction to the subject matter and colour choices. Make of it what you will, but this is one of my favourite finished pieces currently in the studio. It’s serene and calming, but also with a sense of bleakness or loneliness, depending on your mood at the time!

Acrylic on primed MDF panel. Requires framing.
