*** TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE – AT EXHIBITION UNTIL NOVEMBER 10th – AT MOUNT COOT-THA BOTANIC GARDENS, BRISBANE ***

This gorgeous Red-backed Fairy Wren is like a tiny dancer on a sun-lit stage.
The sunset light created warm to cool shadows around the intricately woven vines, which I really enjoyed painting. This watercolour painting, complete with a soft background, conveys the warmth of the setting sun’s rays – a beautiful moment in Nature, just before the tiny wren takes off again.
Tiny moments in Nature are the ones to be treasured.

This is my take on the classic Australian wren-on-a-fencepost image – referenced from my own photo, taken while birdwatching at Brisbane’s Oxley Commons. I always paint from my own references, to create art that is authentic and original.

This artwork is FRAMED and ready to hang.
It has a gorgeous dark-reddish timber frame with a sage-green matt, perfectly complimenting the reds and greens in the painting.
