Additional Information

This story starts with a modern climbing structure in a park. Behind it, a fence line with moments of graffiti frozen in time. The different styles of architecture suggest the passing of the decades, leading at last to the gorgeous golden oldies, sitting in their sense of themselves and reflecting on their childhood – where all they had was their imagination. Their wizened features are carved by their traditional roles – the strong dominant matriarch, the husband, slumped and submissive. Yet despite years of experience and patience their stature is somehow softened by the fragility of their ‘out of place’ existence, because now, no one knows what to do with them except an outing to the park on Sunday. Finalist 2016 Stanthorpe Art Prize.
