Street Icon 171 Frida

Street Icon Urban Art Pop mixed media Painting. This work is made using Recycled Street Posters, it is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, on Billboards and also Vintage Advertising. The background was built up using recycled posters collected around the streets of Sydney, this was then overlaided with Acrylic Paint, Spray Packs, Stencils & Paint Pens.

The finished Collage Painting comes Framed in Black and is mounted under a clear acrylic sheet

This artwork has a textured finish created by built up layers, of paint splatters and torn paper, a visual effect mimicking the look you would see in the street where it is created over time on walls. These imperfections are part of the overall look and gives the work a vintage feel.

Some of my works are also inspired by Mexican Art and Outsider Art, and have Elements of Religious Iconography and Sacred Geometry.

This Mixed Media Artwork features one of my favourite Artists, Mexican Icon Frida Khalo.
