This is an oil painting, on un stretched canvas. It can be mailed in a tube, and you have it re stretched and/or framed the way you would like it.

If you know my work, you know I like painting partly from my imagination, often combining something real with something real. I love still life and come back to it regularly to ground myself. And so it is with this painting. I have included things I love – stars, night sky, lights from buildings at night (don’t you find yourself wondering about all the different lives that are being lived through the windows?). The bowl is one of KwiRak Choung’s bowls – he was my pottery teacher for many years and his work is just beautiful. The flowers are a striking red and pale yellow and the red fruit and cylindrical box just echo the flowers .. I have painted the stars into the table cloth too – a hat tip to some of my other work which uses the rhythmic marks as a foundation. Its a very vibrant painting – sometimes photos don’t always convey the energy of a work but hopefully just a little of that is coming through.
