Additional Information

The recent fires on Kangaroo Island have devastated and displaced much of the wildlife as we know it.

This painting is an expression and memorial to the birds who use the scrub to nest and go about there daily habits of survival as much of this is gone. Not only do the fires create major challenges for small scrub birds but yet again man who find scrub messy and a fire hazard.

‘Bird Ghosts Present’ also highlights the urgent need to do bird counts, find out which species survived and which are at greater peril.

Painted in my normal expressionistic style with thick oil and beeswax on canvas, inspired by a recent visit to the Parndana area, middle of KI.
