Additional Information

Paper Nautilus shell, a rare find on a much loved remote beach of the South West of Western Australia. The shell has been painted using thick oil and long sweeping stokes to reflect the wind swept beach and lines of the shell. a nice blend of colours that help reflect the swirl of the shell.

Long winter walks on isolated beaches can bring up welcome treasures. The paper nautilus is a delicate shell and her journey is long, on a stormy sea. It is a miracle it can be washed up undamaged. I feel the painting is quite significant with thick layers of oil paint. The grey tones in the background help lift the shell, and compliment the sandy colours.

Looks fabulous on a shelf or on the wall
