Additional Information
A visit to an area of mangroves near where I live in the subtropical east coast of Australia was the inspiration for this contemporary painting. I tried to depict the mangrove roots growing in the fine sediments deposited by rivers and tides. Watercolour paints and pencils, tissue collage, stressed Geographic magazine, coffee grounds and coloured pencil grated on sand paper, on Arches 300gsm cold pressed paper.
This painting has had 10 layers of varnish applied, glued to a support and framed in a white floating frame ready to hang.
