Additional Information

This painting developed from my initial selection of one of my favourite colour combinations and it incorporates a dark moody sky and a weird, yet kind of familiar beachscape. I could ramble on about metaphors of biblical proportions, like foolishly building your house on the moving sands, or I could bang on about the building of sandcastles as a symbol of life where it’s beauty lies in it’s fragility and impermanence, only to be swept away by the evening tide. But I won’t. It’s funky and it’s cool and that is why I painted it. It includes everything that I love – a sombre transient light, large scale, depth of field,  and popping  industrial colours. This unique painting has the sides painted, it’s varnished and with wire on the back it is ready to hang.
