Additional Information

Keyed up is an original acrylic painting on stretched canvas.  It is the third of a series of ‘key’ ideas that I have painted.

Here I placed various acrylic colours on to the canvas to cover the surface.  White the surface was still wet I put a piece of plastic (bin liner) on top of the colours and squashed them down with a board to create an abstract effect and left this to dry.

I used clear polypropylene paper to map out some keys and key rings.  I cut away the negative space.  Put down the key shapes and then spray painted white acrylic over the entire surface.   When the paint was dry I removed the key shapes leaving the key forms and added some curvilinear lines that I could see through the white paint resulting in a ‘festive’ painting.

The sides of the painting are 4 cm deep and painted in blue black.

The painting has my initials in the right hand corner and is also signed in full at the back of the painting.

There are D rings and a wire – ready for hanging. This original acrylic painting is bright and cheerful and would brighten up any wall space.
