Acrylic abstract tiger in jungle painting on canvas, stretched and ready to hang

I love to paint and draw foliage and I have always had a thing for drawing big cats too. I really enjoy to play with free flowing and ‘moving’ brush strokes and let the painting almost make itself. I feel the freedom creates a beauty of its own. Patterns play a big part in all of work – I love the aesthetic it adds to a piece.

Quirk has always been my thing too – I’ve never taken myself seriously 🙂
This tiger was originally meant to look fierce and scary but in the end he ended up with this goofy smile, which I’m really happy with. It’s light-heartedness makes me happy. Hence the name – ‘ I Tried To Be Scary’

This painting looks so much better in the flesh – it’s never easy to capture a piece properly in photos. The dark colour isn’t actually black – it’s a very deep violet that is almost black. This colour is so rich and helps the brighter colour in the painting to pop.

All of my pieces come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
