This painting of a florist/garden nursery is inspired by old character filled stores - just run down enough to not make it immediately obvious if the business is still running; whether the store is just closed, or permanently closed down.
The building is in the style of Art Nouveau, with its distinctive curves and stained glass. Numerous paint layers make up the texture of the painting, to evoke the age of the building and the ambiguity of its current state.
The painting extends to the sides, as can be seen in the additional photos.
Cotton duck canvas with Baltic pine frame. Finished with a matt varnish and signed on the back. D-rings and wire can be attached to the painting on request.
