Flinders Street Tram 70

An original abstract painting, created by a Cartographer with 30+ years of mapping experience.

The number 70 tram from Flinders Station to Melbourne Park is the tram I have caught the most since moving to Melbourne in 2013. My son used to train at Melbourne Park so I would park for free and catch the tram to the city for a few hours. Being new to the city I had lots to explore. While this is still a Melbourne Map it is a little different to my other body of work as I have utilised a background that shows brush marks rather than a block colour. The bold hard edge lines are representative of the tram lines that leave from the Flinders Street precinct, in all directions. The white rectangles are trams on those lines.

The map is oriented to North as with all my work, however not to scale in this case, but more similar to a map seen at the tram stops.

The painting is continued around the sides of the canvas.

Signed on the front and authenticated on the back.
