Additional Information

Fishing Around is a dreamy landscape painting featuring a dog fishing in shallow waters .  It’s an oil painting on stretched canvas, unframed (it would look good in a simple shadow drop frame, like the one in the styled photo in the gallery) .  It is ready to hang just as it is – it’s got white gessoed edges so they won’t offend in any way.   This work is inspired by a couple of dogs I have owned who just love fishing .. one dog, George, was almost impossible to pull away from the water especially after he had spotted a fish. he never caught one to my knowledge, but it didn’t stop him trying..  The colours and atmosphere are ethereal and what I was thinking as I painted it was that there were probably millions of dogs that love fishing, and hopefully always will be.  I guess you know by now that I love dogs – but ‘ve never wanted to be a dog painter in that chocolate boxy style … no, mine are all dog like .. not totally realistic .. its just the way I like them.
