This art piece is inspired by the great black cockatoo. I've only ever seen a few out west, but when I have, they always seem so fearless, confident and sure on what they are doing and where they are headed. I used some of my made up paint mixing techniques to allow for greater splashes and blending in the wings to provide a look of marbling and resin. I’ve made up my own unique paint brushing effect to work in the charcoal, which results in a smooth finish on paper and canvas. I then let the emotions run free with expressive splashes and resin-like mixes of paint. This large piece is ready to hang and sealed with high quality fixatives.
