Additional Information

Endangered’ is a series of painting I have been working on in a neo expressionistic style and as a visual literacy of endangered birds in Australia.

The Orange Bellied Parrot is on the critically endangered list as it flies between SA/Vic to Tasmania where the habitat is being destroyed by noxious weeds, feral cats, Wind turbines and genetic failure due to the small population ( Backyard Birds).

They have a beautiful patch of bright orange with yellow and green feathers. Gorgeous little buttons of colour almost gone.

This painting depicts an Orange Bellied Parrot staring down at the observer and bordered in gold. The gold leaf border in this series is used to state how special these animals are.
