Ceramic sculpture – Bust
Head of a Woman
I was using left over clay to make a quick portrait, so again, using the method of working upwards from the base, built the neck to the head, keeping the details to a minimum. The creases that resulted from the fast building method were traced in black stain to emphasise its loose style. Glazed in a flat clear glaze.
The base was made using a method of colouring and marbling clays, attaching over a spreading base to resemble the shoulders.
Experimental work that brings its own style.
