Additional Information

Blue Sky Dreaming is one of a series of abstracted landscapes exploring my love of our country. It is very much inspired by a childhood growing up in rural South Australia. Rolling pastoral hills interconnect as they meet the distant coastline. It is an acrylic on canvas, ready to hang painting.
I’ve used pattern and colour blocks to differentiate different areas of the composition. I absolutely love colour and how differing colours interact with each other. I find it completely fascinating. I hope you enjoy this artwork, it will certainly lift the mood in any home!
Evidence of underlying texture hints at the processes I go through to create each individual artwork, with multiple attempts to find the ‘just right’ feel of each painting.
Beautiful sea blues, sky blues, greys, earthy browns and muted greens and yellows are offset by strong contemporary colours of hot pink, rich strawberry reds and my favourite earthy mustardy yellow! Each colour is painstakingly hand mixed: it is very rare for me to use a colour straight from the tube/tub.
I am also inspired by Modernism and have a strong interest in the language of abstraction.
