Additional Information

A peaceful drifty artwork that lifts the spirits of all who see it.

Diving into the reef. This painting belongs to my ‘Aquatic’ Series. It is representative of my exploration into the microscopic minutiae of life with all its order & chaos. I delve into the beautiful parallels of art with science that I have bound with my love of effervescent of sea-life like bio-luminessence, floaty algae, coral and jellyfish. Many of the building blocks of life that is so very real but cannot be seen with our normal everyday eyesight.

Jacquelyn Stephens paintings are inspired by microscopic other worlds. Particle physics, pulsating atoms, cell growth, minuscule amoebas and of course she can never escape the otherworldliness of underwater sea life. Jacquelyn grew in and by the sea at Flinders. Ultimately the paintings are about our sense of awe and wonder at these miraculous building blocks of life.

ALL PAINTINGS ARE VARNISHED with Professional Quality Artists Varnish, once they have been photographed. This gives a protective surface and an exquisite sheen that really makes the colours powerful & eye-catching.

The painting is on canvas wrapped around traditional wooden stretcher bars with edges that are a smart 3.5cm deep. The edges are cleaned, staple free and painted a neutral colour to compliment the painting.
