“Barbershop” captures a mundane moment of urban life, but portrays it in a beautiful way, as is the case with much of Logan Moody’s work.
Moody uses hand made stencils and spray paint to create modern stencil art that brings moments to life by capturing the realism in the detail and depth created through the layering. Each piece is created by painstakingly hand cutting each layer over the course of months, using only his eye to separate the colours.
Moody creates a single spraying on 5mm MDF board which produces the best results, and if the stencils allow it he will produce up to 5 versions on paper until the stencils disintegrate and become unusable. Each work is signed and numbered.
The time taken to create each piece ranges from a few days, to a few months.
