Amber Burn is an Abstract expressive and bold work that resonates with the land, landscape, and nature, rich red and amber colours with patterning and bold shaped plants. Thoughts of the after burn of a fire are present in the context of the colour Black as it creates a bold statement to the land and the burning of nature. I have been often told that my work is similar to that of Aboriginal Art, although for me I believe it resonates more with my own Hotchkin heritage which dates back to Native Indian, Choctaw Indians. My work can often have a raw flat primitive feel in style, viewed mainly because of the patterning, shape and line work used that can resonate with Native Art.
