Additional Information

Abigail with Red Confetti – Like many of my portrait paintings, I tend to avoid perfect realism, preferring instead to take up a square brush to render skin tones in fractured brush strokes. Abigail has been painted using the Zorn palette – just red, yellow ochre, black and white. This produces stunning shades of grey, mauve, olive, pink and salmon, and has become a focal point of my recent creativity.

This painting has a highly unusual textural and thick quality to it, allowing the portrait to be considered semi-abstract. It is essentially impressionist in style – the best view of Abi is as you step away from her. She is indeed serious in nature, however a small smirk can be detected in the corner of her lusciously full mouth.

The sides of the artwork are painted pale grey/pink, similar to the top right hand corner of the front of the painting. I can change this on request before delivery at no extra charge – just get in touch!

MATERIALS

This is professional artists’ archival oil paint on heavy duty gallery-wrapped canvas, D-rings and wire, felt pads in corners, ready to hang. Only the best materials are used 🙂

It would look great framed, however this is not necessary as the painting is stretched over an internal frame and is therefore ready to hang.

Delivery via Australia Post – Express Post.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born into a family of musicians, authors, actors, photographers and painters, it was natural that life lead me here, poised at the canvas, brush in hand. I live entirely off-grid at my bushland home in rural Victoria with hubby, dogs and a gorgeously prolific vegetable garden.

I use art to express my immense – well, let’s say obsessive – passion for the indigenous landscape, which is easily recognised in my vibrant colourful artworks. Luscious layers of pigment are applied with energy and spontaneity, often switching from brush to palette knife to provide additional texture and depth to my paintings. Recently I have embarked upon a series of paintings using skin tones to further broaden my skills.

Like something similar in a different size or using different colours? I am happy to discuss commission requests.

Please note, I do not produce prints or replicas of my artwork.

Best,
Eve x
