Mixed media on canvas ready to hang.

This original artwork by Marijke Lambregtse is influenced by my recent visit to Sri Lanka. I felt very overwhelmed by the overcrowded cities, people are turned into things who have to consume endlessly. Although there were many Buddhist temples the mindfulness and material detachment of the Buddhist philosophy I was looking for was hard to find. We are becoming a collective changed by the system we often don’t want.

You owe me some kind of love
