Additional Information

Wolfsbane – I am always on the lookout for flowers and animal, birds, fish etc that have a link in their names that give me the basis for my “Flora & Fauna” series.  In this one I depict the fauna (Wolf) using detailed pointillism in black, white and greys and the flora (Wolfsbane flower) in a semi abstract, stylised way using conventional brush strokes in purple, mauve and green hues.

Aconitum or wolfsbane is also known as aconite, monkshood,  leopard’s bane, mousebane, women’s bane, devil’s helmet, queen of poisons, or blue rocket, is a genus of over 250 species of flowering plants belonging to the family Ranunculaceae.

I must say that creating the paintings for this series has broadened my knowledge of flora & fauna in our beautiful world!

A steady hand, good eyesight, patience, numerous challenges and more hours than I can recall, have resulted in this painting that I am absolutely thrilled with and proud of.  I am quite sure that it will give it’s buyer as much pleasure as it has given me to create it.

This painting is signed on the front and a laminated, numbered Certificate of Authenticity is included. Edges painted black to match the painting’s background. Protective gloss spray.

PLEASE NOTE: In the photos, where the painting is shown mounted on a wall, these are purely for illustrative purposes. You should review the dimension of the artwork to be sure the work suits your needs.
