Welcome To My House by Katie Cirjak.

The inspiration behind this art piece comes from the lockdowns which large parts of the world have experienced over the last two years. We found global solidarity by being ‘confined’ to our households. And for so many of us, our households became our sanctuaries. Pre-pandemic, many of us were out and about and home was a place that only came alive after the work was finished, and the demands of the outside world stopped for another day. During lockdown periods, our homes were alive every day and no matter how complicated the global issues felt, life at home felt simple. The house in this art piece is simple, the background represents the lack of noise from outside world, and the colours represent the livelihood of being indoors with our families, our pets, our plants!
