Umbrellas II with Rainbow Bee-Eater by Susanne Bianchi –

Rainbow Bee-Eater; Merops ornatus Umbrella Plant; Cyperus Alternifolius

My Grandparents had large beautiful garden with huge Umbrella Pants down one side of their house.  When I was around 5 years old I used to parade around under one of these leaves pretending that I was an elegant Japanese lady twirling her umbrella,  It is such a fond memory of mine as I used to love to visit my beloved Grandma and Grandpa.

This is the second in a small series of semi abstract works simply called ‘Umbrellas’ in tribute to my Grandparents and childhood memories.  A small Rainbow Bee Eater flits among the leaves.

Overall Measurements: 80cm by 81cm x 5cm

The work is a Diptych and is painted on two individual cradled timber boards.

Ready to be be hung together as a diptych or hung as two separate pieces if desired.
