  • The Weight of Memory in room setting

Additional Information

The weight of Memory is a non-objective work of art. It relates to my journey through life in an ever-changing way, the deconstruction and reconstruction of my life is ongoing, as is the landscape which surrounds us.

This artwork is an original ‘bespoke’ work of art. Painted on birch panel board. The work can be framed or left unframed. The surface does not require glass or any covering.

Caring for Cold wax mixed media paintings are similar to most other forms of artwork. They should not be exposed to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures – they do best in temperatures between 5-52 degrees Celsius (40-150F)

Cold wax paintings require no varnishing or other surface treatment when they are finished. Once dry, their beautiful, matt surface is durable and can stand on its own.  However, when the surface of the painting is dry it can be buffed without the addition or application of any wax or another medium.  This can be done by using a soft lint-free cloth.  Cold wax paintings do not need to be protected by glass if they have been produced on panels/boards. If the painting has been produced on Oil Canvas or paper, a thin layer of wax over the entire surface of the canvas/paper will seal it from the elements.

‘Weight of Memory’ eludes to fragments of my journey through life.  The ever-changing landscape, deconstructing and reconstructing of buildings, landscapes and thoughts.

This bold painting has been constructed/painted using oil paints, dry pigments, oil sticks and cold wax medium. The work has been sealed and ready to move.
