Additional Information

The Way by Maia Martin – Luminous abstract watercolour painting of hibiscus flowers and leaves blowing in the breeze. I love nature, beauty and colour so this has inspired my nature series. This painting was inspired by bamboo leaves gently blowing in the afternoon breeze as you sit under the trees in the afternoon, maybe with a cool drink and a good book/company. The painting was inspired by the Chinese book Tao te Ching.

This painting has Chinese calligraphy about the way of life, the Tao Te Ching, Verse #8. It is a poem around life:

The highest good is like water.
Water gives life to the ten thousand things and does not strive.
It flows in places men reject and so it is like the Tao.

In dwelling, be close to the land.
In meditation, go deep in the heart.
In dealing with others, be gentle and kind.
In speech, be true.
In ruling, be just.
In business, be competent.
In action, watch the timing.

No fight: No blame.

Bringing the beauty of the natural world to you in a vibrant, free flowing, loose style of abstract painting with Chinese calligraphy. Watercolour paintings contain a luminosity that shines through each painting.

This painting would lift your environment or room by adding nature, colour, beauty and light.
