This work is an oil painting capturing the shadows and light of a day on the beach. A sand dune sits in the foreground to add a sense of natural framing to the composition. The paint is thick and deliberately captures an aggressive sense of movement. Inspired by Australian Impressionists of the past, this work is an investigation into light and colour. The work is painted on board and is professionally framed in a floating frame (the work sits inside the frame but does not touch the frame itself).
