Additional Information

Survivor Sunflower by Lucinda Leveille – This is my second oil painting again a diptych, which is part of my new series about ‘still life after death’ – and no its not morbid – it refers to new life.
I guess there is also a bit of a pun going on here as most of these images can be classified as “still life”.  However, the solitary theme is continuing to run through the paintings.
Everyone in Australia has been affected by the recent bushfires, artists are no exception. Perhaps if we look at it from a perspective of a necessary part of our ecosystem – so from destruction comes life.
There are many reasons I chose the sunflower to represent this series – they are drought and heat tolerant, making them perfect for Australian conditions and they can be used for medicine, cooking and making pigments!
One of the images that has had a huge impact on me from the bushfires, is a photograph of a single sunflower which came through the fires, scorched but still standing.
So, to new beginnings …….
If you love this piece but it doesn’t quite suit your space, I would be delighted to work with you to produce an artwork that will work for you and your home, I enjoy commissions and it’s always great to know that this is something uniquely yours.
As with all of my works, this is an original and a one of a kind, I do not make prints from any of my works.
The paintings are signed on the front with my name ‘Lucinda’ and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. I only use Artist quality materials in the creation of my artwork – archival, quality paper for my watercolours, well prepared supports for my oil paintings and both are painted using artist pigments.
The artworks on gallery style stretched canvas, do not require framing and are ready to hang, however, a box frame on this style of canvas can dress the painting really well.
The piece will arrive cocooned in bubble wrap and packed within a sturdy cardboard container, sometimes recycled ( I like to recycle), any glass will be taped to help prevent breakage, it may not be the prettiest on the outside but the contents will arrive safe and sound.
