Story Bridge  Feb 2021

A drawing of a team of Riggers building the Story Bridge, circa 1938 was inspired by a photo in the State Library of Queensland collection (SLQ image no. APE 075 0001 0017). Building the Story Bridge provided a long awaited second connection between the south and north sides of Brisbane near the city and also provided work for so many during the Great Depression. The image of this group of men who worked at dizzying heights without modern safety equipment of protective equipment is a story that deserves to be preserved,

This original drawing was created using pen and ink on Bristol smooth 200gsm paper. The artwork is unframed and shipped flat .
