Synopsis

I have an extreme, primal fear of snakes. I also live, in what feels like, the homeland of snakes – the Sunshine Coast. The snakes aren’t packing up their bags and moving away, and I have no plans to leave the Sunshine Coast, so I am trying Art Therapy to manage this phobia. Sourcing reference photos = exposure therapy. Using my favorite colours (neon pink and oranges) to make the snake beautiful. Giving the work and the snake a name – Stevie. Eventually I will work with snake skins to add texture to future works – but for now, this is Stevie. She is a beautiful python. She doesn’t bite. She doesn’t hide in your work boots. And she doesn’t eat your cats.
