It is rare to see a black cockatoo, but one might come across its colourful feather, dropped from the sky as if by magic.
Fascinated by the vibrant colours and patterns of the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo’s tail feathers, I decided to set the painted feather against a rich gold background.

The gold will shine and change with the light in a room, and this detailed piece will become a treasured addition to a bookshelf, desk, cabinet of curiosities, or other small space that needs some dramatic colour.

The canvas measures 30.5 x 10cm, and is 3.5cm thick. Canvas sides painted black. Signed on the front.
